So I've always had page file disabled and never had any problems with my 16GB of DDR4 (running at 3000Mhz).GG.deals aggregates game keys from over 40 digital distribution stores so you can find the best deals on video games. That just changed with Deus Ex - Mankind Divided it seems.īefore playing Mankind Divided, I played Rise of the Tomb Raider (in DX12) and total system RAM usage was spiking at around 9.5GB to 10.5GB. Everything was fine, never had any issues.įor the last several days, I've been playing Mankind Divided (in DX12) and total RAM usage hangs somewhere in between 10GB to 12GB. When walking around in the city of Prague that is normally when RAM usage spikes toward the 12GB and as soon as it was getting really close to 12GB, Windows was shutting the game down and I was getting the "low memory warning" message from windows saying that it "closed the application". I turned page file ON and everything was fine, game would spike the total system RAM usage to 12GB without issues but would not go past 12GB which I found odd since I knew that the game was trying to access more RAM but Windows was shutting it down automatically just before total system RAM usage hit 12GB. Since Windows was automatically shutting the game down near 12GB of RAM usage (~75% of total system RAM) and was not going over 12GB even with page file enabled, I would assume that Windows 10 likes to keep a ~25% headroom for itself depending on the application? Or could it be the game engine? Looks like even if you do have the physical RAM, Windows will start swapping regardless to maintain some headroom.Īnyways, got another kit yesterday, so I'm now sitting at 32GB, turned page file back OFF and now total system usage spikes at close to 13GB now while playing the game and obviously not getting any "low memory warnings" since it now has plenty of headroom.ETA: As per multiple user recommendations, I’ve reinstalled windows and all drivers to have a fresh start. #3440x1440p deus ex mankind divided images drivers# I disabled my OC settings and turned on just PBO results are worse than the ones I had earlier. Dropped a a few frames across the board because of different OC settings with PBO fresh start did not help fix the issues.ģ2GB dual channel DDR4 3600mhz CL16-19-19-39 32GB - have tested different timings and clocks. I have recently upgraded my CPU from an intel i5 4690K 4C/4T which was OCed to 4.5 Ghz. In some games my Ryzen CPU has performed worse or the at the same level. I have tried changing CPU and RAM clocks, as well as timings. Ryzen max settings 4.4ghz: min: 74 max:95 avg:82 Here are some benchmarks that I was able to gather: I have tried increasing base CPU clock speed while trying to control thermals - to do so I deactivated simultaneous multi-threading - basically turning my 3900x into a 12C/12T again similar results as before - not a noticeable difference in frames but temps were better when running at 12C/12T.įrom those tests I noticed a little bit of improved performance but it was only one or two frames in most scenarios. I have this motherboard auto voltage sucks. It gives my 3950x 1.45v in voltage or more in bios doing nothing. Then install aida64 and check your ram latency. #3440x1440p deus ex mankind divided images install# 3800ish should be 17 17 17 at worse case. If not best to keep it 3600 or 3200 wherever you can keep the ns latency at 75 or lower. If you buy fancy $300 4000c15 kit you can get about 62-63 ns. Of course there is a point of reminiscing. Also when you test lock the clock speed to whatever you want 3.5 or 4.0 all core whatever your cooling solution. Yes I agree to use PBO once done but ns latency depends on clock speed also so if not locked clock you will see caring results. Example 3.5gh all core with better ram timings might result in 74ns in your settings while 4.4boost on worse might result in 75 and you might think it not worth while if not noticing clock is not locked. I learned the hard way.Īm planning to build a new machine around 3950X - don't do a lot of gaming but new Flight Sim 2020 is a good excuse to update my current machine. I've put together the following build - intend to purchase in next day or two:ĪMD Ryzen 9 3950X 3.5 GHz 16-Core Processor #3440x1440p deus ex mankind divided images update#
